Pottery with stories
Art is a language, and I speak pottery. Through it, I tell the story of my life. And yours too. At my studio, clay and colors come together to give shape to universal feelings and memories. Turning them into plates and vessels, stories become tangible and can finally be shared. Explore the arts, find your language. Shape your stories and share them with me.
The Komorebi Luster
There is a Japanese word used to explain “the light through the leafs”, Komorebi.
There is no possible translation for the "komorebi" word. No synonym. Unique.
If you have the chance to walk by the streets in Valencia you will see “komorebis” everywhere: through the orange trees, the palm trees, the lights are making this city unique.
I still work with the ancient Arab methods that they left us. Even if you see leafs everywhere all over the pieces, the important thing in this case is to see the roots.
Through the "silk route", Valencia pottery was influenced by Chinese porcelain, most of all
by the floral motifs and the whiteness of this material.
During the process, the silk drawing contaminates the pottery ring, making a single piece.
It represents the influence in our culture of these exquisite fabrics. Each plate is a unique piece.
